UiA Career Services offer career guidance to all students at UiA. You are most welcome to contact us to arrange an appointment, whether you have just started your studies or are about to graduate. If you register as an alumni through UiA Alumni, you can use our services for up to two years after completing your studies at UiA.
Career guidance
There are many things you can ask about. You can talk to a career guidance counsellor about the things you need advice on, or the things you are uncertain or worried about. No topic is off limit, as long as it is career related. We want our guidance to be easily accessible and want you to feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Examples of common questions:
What career opportunities do I have?
How do I develop the skills I need to get a job?
What can I do to stand out among other applicants?
How should I present myself during an interview?
How should I deal with difficult times in the job market?
What are the labour market needs?
What should my plan A and plan B be?
These are questions students often ask, but you may also have other things you would like to discuss. Together we try to find solutions and options that suit you. Think carefully about what you want to talk about before your guidance session, so we can help you get the most out of your appointment.

Academic guidance
If you have questions regarding study choices, we also offer advice about that. Perhaps you have started your studies but are not sure if your study programme is right for you, or perhaps you think you have chosen the wrong course? Get in touch with us if you are uncertain.
If you have questions about the structure or content of your study programme, student exchange or similar, contact your programme coordinator.
CV, application and LinkedIn checks
Are you unsure how your CV would be perceived by an employer?
Are you applying for a job and wondering if the application is any good?
Do you have a LinkedIn profile that you would like to get some feedback on?
Many people find it hard to express who they are and what they can do. We give you individual feedback where you need it, whether it is on your CV, application or LinkedIn profile.
