Please pay your semester fee as soon as possible and within 1 September for autumn semester and 1 February for spring semester. When you pay your semester fee, you can download the app/get your semester card, your student ID-card and receive your financial support from the Lånekassa (this only applies to students with a permanent residence permit). You can find your invoice on the Studentweb. If your invoice is missing, please contact UiA Help.
Note that it can take a couple of days for your payment to be registered in our student system.
Each semester you are required to pay your semester fee to be registered as a student, to be able to attend your exams, receive your financial support from Lånekassa and to receive your semester card. The semester card confirms that you are a student during the semester. You will need the semester card to use the services from SIA (The Student Association in Agder) and to get discounts during e.g. travel.
Please pay your semester fee within the deadlines (February 1 and September 1), or you no longer will be considered as a student and your registrations for classes will be deleted.
"Old" students can find information about payment and their invoice on the Studentweb in December/June. New students have to wait just before the semester starts.

In cases where there is doubt whether a person should be classified as a student, the institution will, after consulting with the Student Association, decide the matter pursuant to the first subsection”. See also Student Association provisions, section 17. This indicates that only PhD students enrolled in the programmes mentioned above, or those getting support from the State Educational loan Fund according to current regulations, may choose to pay the semester fee. For all other PhD students, paying the semester fee is not an option.
Semester fee at another Norwegian place of study
If you are a student at more than one educational institution in Norway, you only need to pay the semester fee at one of the institutions. The main rule is that you pay the semester fee to the place of study where you are living this semester, or where you are taking most credits this semester. If you have an exchange period abroad and are a degree student at UiA, you still have to pay the semester fee to UiA.
In order to get exempt from the semester fee at UiA, we need a documentation of your payment to another Norwegian place of study. Go to your Studentweb at the institution in question, go through the menu, More > Payments. Your invoice can be downloaded in a PDF format and forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org.
