Important information about exchange and Study Abroad in the Fall semester 2022
It is possible to apply for exchange in the Fall semester 2022. We hope many get to experience a semester or a full year abroad.
The Corona pandemic still makes it more difficult to travel, but most of our partner universities are accepting exchange students. Some countries have strict entry rules, making student exchange difficult. This includes New Zealand, Hong Kong and China, but also other countries may change their entry rules at short notice.
Please note that you are personally responsible for buying the necessary insurances for the duration of your stay abroad. UiA will not cover any financial loss that you may experience, and that is not covered by your insurance. You must relate to and respect advice from Norwegian as well as local authorities while abroad. We recommend that you contact ANSA for information about insurance, as well as support for Norwegian students abroad.
You may list up to 3 institutions in prioritised order in your application for exchange / Study Abroad. Should your planned study experience be impaired by the pandemic, we will attempt to find alternative solutions, even after the application deadline.
As the situation world wide is still uncertain and unpredictable, it is essential that everyone applying for exchange / Study Abroad also has a Plan B for the Fall semester.
Who can apply?
All students who are enrolled in a degree programme at UiA are entitled to apply for exchange / Study Abroad. The exchange period may be one or two semesters, and will be recognized as an integrated part of your degree from UiA.
You need to have earned minimum 60 credits from UiA before going on exchange. Check the ECTS course catalogue for details regarding exchange at your specific study programme.
Please note that you have not yet applied to the actual institution abroad. You will receive a reply to your application around 3 weeks after the application deadline. If selected, you will be informed on how to apply to the host institution. The information will be sent to your ‘stud.uia’ address.
