In general, the written exams will be arranged as home exams this semester. If you are still having a written exam, it is important that you prepare yourself with the checklist on this page. If you get sick on the day of the examination, you can not attend exam on campus.
Important preparations before the written examination:
Installing the exam browser
Safe Exam Browser is a webbrowser-environment to carry out online exams safely. The software changes any computer into a secure workstation. It regulates the access to any utilities like system functions, other websites and applications and prevents unauthorised resources being used during an exam.
Your exam will be visible 2-3 days before the exam-date.
Username and password
Use your ordinary UiA-username and password to log on to your exam. Make sure that you have a valid username and password. It's important that you remember your username and password, even if it's autosaved.
Also remember that the password needs to be renewed regularly. You will be notified by mail before the password expires. If you are able to log on to Canvas with your Feide-password, then everything is in order.

Note that many job computers do not work on UiA's wireless network, therefore we advise you to clarify this before your exam.
On the day of the exam you are required to bring your own laptop - make sure that you have installed all the latest updates on your computer before the examination day. You are not allowed to use an Ipad or a hybrid computer.
Your equipment must fulfil the following standards
PC: Mimimum; Windows 7 Recommended; Windows 10 ( Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 10)
Mac: Minimum; Mac OSX 10.10 Recommended; Mac OSX 10.13 ( OSX 10.10, 10.11, 10.12, 10.13)

Inspera does not support the browser Internet Explorer
For either browser: Even if you have installed the browser previously, there might have been an update in the meantime. In that case, you need to install the browser once again. You can check if this applies to you simply by running the test exam.
Please make sure that your computer can be logged on to the wireless network “Eduroam”.

Be sure to be present at the room which you are to be seated for you exam at least half an hour before your scheduled exam. Setting up equipment and log on should be done at the very latest 15 minutes before the exam starts.

Remember to bring your own pc/mac and a charger.
You have to bring a valid means of identification (student ID/driver’s license/bank ID). The digital student ID and digital drivers licence is not sufficient ID for examinations.
Students who have gotten approval for using a computer with spellchecking, are to be seated at a separate computer lab with stationary computers.
Follow the instructions given by the attending exam officials.

You can apply to borrow a computer from the University of Agder during special circumstanses
Mail the application to email@example.com. Remember to include your full name, student number and which exam/s you are applying for.
Digital exam with hand drawings
For some of the examinations, it's possible to submit hand drawings as a part of your answers,
Underneath each question you will find a unique 7-digit code, which has to be transferred to the sheets, from which question you want to make drawings, write or make calcutaions.
When you are ready to submit your examination - press the button "Lever prøve" in Inspera and deliver the sheets to the inspector. These sheets will be scanned and attached as an integrated part of your answer.
