The deadline for requesting an explanation is one week after the grade was announced
Once the grading is complete, the course instructor will make the grading guidelines available on Canvas. Please review these guidelines before deciding whether to request an explanation for your grade.
If you are considering appealing the grade, we recommend requesting an explanation.
How to request an explanation
Log on to Studentweb.
In the drop-down menu <More>, select <Explanation and complaint>.
Click on the relevant course and press <Send> to request an explanation. The button disappears if the deadline for requesting an explanation has passed.
Normally, the explanation should be available within 2-3 weeks.
You will receive an email notification when the explanation is ready. A link to Inspera will be available in Studentweb.
The explanation is located under <Archive> - the course - <See more details>.
Exceptions
For assignments that have an adjusting oral examination afterwards, the explanation is typically given in conjunction with the oral examination.
For pure multiple-choice exams, the point distribution will normally be posted on Canvas when the grading is ready.
For assignments submitted in Canvas, send an email directly to the course instructor/examiner.
For oral or practical exams, the request for an explanation must be made immediately after the grade is announced.
