There are normally two deadlines each year for submitting your master’s thesis
In the box to the right on this website you'll find Master's Thesis title page
You need to register the final title of your Master’s Thesis on StudentWeb prior to the deadline for submission.
The title will appear on your diploma, so it is important that you register it correctly. Please, see instructions on this page about how this is done.
Below you will find more information regarding the submission procedure. In addition you will also find previous published Master’s Theses.
UiA encourages master students to give their consent to the publication of their master’s theses in the Agder University Research Archive AURA. When submitting your thesis you will be asked to give your consent regarding the publication of your thesis.
How to register title in Studentweb
Log on to Studentweb
Choose "my courses", and click "edit"
Choose "show title"
At last, enter title for your Master Thesis
Remember to "save" in the end.
How to insert front page
If you experience formatting problems with the front page of the master thesis, there are two solutions:
copy the Word file with master thesis into the Word file with front cover template (and not the other way around).
create a PDF-file of the front page and a separate PDF-file of your thesis and merge them using CutePDF (requires Flash) or PDF Merge.
Submitting your master’s thesis
All master’s theses must be submitted electronically using Inspera.
You log in using your regular UiA username and password.
It is possible to hand in your thesis as approximately 2 weeks prior to the deadline.
Note that after the deadline, it is no longer possible to submit your thesis.
The submission procedure must be completed by the deadline.
All master’s theses need to be submitted as a PDF-file.
If you want to, you can use our standard title page as the front page ( see the information box to the right)
We also request that you register the final title of your master’s thesis on Studentweb. You need to do this prior to the deadline.
All students, also those who cooperate with others, must go through the submission procedure individually.
Submitting your master’s thesis - three steps
You need to go through these steps in Inspera in order to submit your master’s thesis:
You have to state whether or not your master's thesis can be published through the university library
You have to upload the PDF containing your thesis - make sure you upload the correct file!
You have to click <Submit test> and confirm by clicking <Yes, I am submitting the test now>.
Once the submission is complete, a receipt should appear on your screen. After the deadline, you will be able to locate your thesis in a separate file.
If you need a paper copy of your master thesis, you can choose between the following two options:
You may print out the master thesis yourself (print on both sides). Bring it to the IT services help desk (near the library). There you can make your own “hard copy” with a transparent plastic cover.
You can contact a local print shop and have them make a hard copy in accordance with the requirements as listed above.
Remember to use the “Master Thesis Title Page” format on the first page of your thesis (see box to the right on this website). Information on the title page must be correct.
