Games and Active Learning Methods in Education (GAME)

About the project

Being a student today is not just sitting in lectures and absorbing knowledge. It is much more than passive consumption. Successful students take charge of their own learning and contribute to the co-creation of knowledge in their communities. Being a student is also being a part of a lively community which fosters cooperation and creative solutions. In this project, we want to help all students regardless of their background, qualifications, and previous educational experiences to become independent and resourceful learners.

We work on creating physical, digital and blended learning games which train the players in logical thinking, problem solving, and cooperation and at the same time let them become acquainted with the physical space on campus and the different support services the university offers. The resulting series of game quests should help our first-year students become members of the academic learning community quicker while leaving no one behind.
