On Wednesday 24 May, Sunniva Whittaker was re-elected chair of Universities Norway. This happened during the council of representatives meeting in Kristiansand.

Universities Norway (UHR) represents all the accredited universities and university colleges in Norway, which together have over 40,000 employees and 298,000 students.
On Wednesday 24 May, Sunniva Whittaker was re-elected as chair of the board during UHR's council of representatives meeting in Kristiansand. Whittaker has been chair of the board of UHR since 2021. She is rector at the University of Agder and was re-elected for a new two-year term.
“UHR is enjoying good momentum. We’re working on many major challenges facing the entire university and college sector. I look forward to continuing to work with the board, and I’m sure that there will be new important issues to tackle in the years to come,” says Sunniva Whittaker in the press release (Norwegian only).
Rector Svein Stølen from the University of Oslo was re-elected as deputy chair. The nominating committee's recommendations were approved by acclamation.
