Three candidates run for election

Three candidates from the constituency temporarily employed in teaching and research positions are prepared to fill a vacant seat on the University Board at UiA. The election will be held 18-25 May.

“We are very happy with the candidates. They are all capable of doing a good job on the University Board. Now we look forward  to seeing what the voters will do, who they’ll vote for”, says chair of the university's electoral board, Faculty Director Veslemøy Rabe.

The three candidates are:

  • Henriette Hovland, Department of Health and Nursing Sciences, Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences
  • Lucia Castro Herrera, Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Joseph Salomonsen, Department of Sociology and Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences

Election is held 18 - 25 May

Nearly 300 employees at UiA make up the constituency of temporary employees in teaching and research positions. The constituency has one representative and two deputies on the University Board. They are elected for one year at a time, with term of office from 1 August to 31 July.

The election is held from 18 to 25 May at 14:00. The constituency votes here.

The current representative for this constituency is Associate Professor Ronald Mayora Synnes at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The deputy representatives are PhD research fellows Lucia Castro Herrera at the Faculty of Social Sciences, who is also standing for election, and Rebekka Olsson Omslandseter at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
