On 21-25 January, UiA invites all to a week of exciting activities and experiences. This will be a great opportunity for students to get to know each other and the university.

"Javel! Mangfoldsuka (Javel! Diversity week) is an effort to show that UiA is a university for all students and employees, regardless of religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or physical function," Claudia Klostergaard at the Centre for Gender and Equality says.
Diversity week is an extension of previous events for students. It is meant to contribute to a good start of the semester and prevent loneliness among new and existing students, as well as employees.
"We have normally arranged a diversity day at the start of the autumn semester, but now we wish to host an entire week at the start of the spring semester. Normally, there are not a lot of activities at this time of year, and many new students start at this time as well," Klostergaard says.
Well-being and inclusion have a lot to say for study results. If you are not thriving, it is more difficult to learn. Diversity week is a joint effort by different organisations. Over the course of the week, more than 20 events will take place.
The Student Organization of Agder (STA)supports diversity week. On the “Involve yourself-day”on 24 January, there will be a host of student activities, and the student unions will show what they have to offer. STA will also promote diversity on their website and social media.
