During the first week of semester start, nearly no parking fines were issued. However, things are stricter now. On Monday 20 August, 23 parking fines were issued at UiA, each for NOK 600. An unfortunate expense that can be avoided.

Please follow the instructions on the Parking at UiA pages. Here, you can also find the special parking rules and advice for Campus Grimstad and Campus Kristiansand. Be especially aware of the special parking rules on Campus Grimstad during the construction period for the I4H building.
A solution when all other parking areas are full is the guest parking near the houses in Kunnskapsparken (P10). Parking here is pricier – NOK 20 per hour – and there are usually available parking spaces here.
If you have any feedback for improvements, such as better use of signs, or other enquiries regarding parking areas and spaces, please send an e-mail to parking@uia.no.
But please remember, having a parking fee is a decision made by the UiA Board, and only the Board can remove the parking fees. Neither the Europark parking wardens or the Facilities Management at UiA can reverse this decision from the Board. Therefore, it is pointless get at angry at them for doing the job they have been hired to do.
Electric cars are not exempt from the parking fee. «Electric cars must pay ordinary parking fees.» - it is clearly stated in the parking rules on the main page for parking, it is bold in the open/close point «Electric cars – parking and charging stations» on the same page, and in the open/close point «Electric cars – parking and charging stations» on the parking pages for Campus Grimstad and Campus Kristiansand.
There have been parking fees on Campus Grimstad for a long while, and therefore the arrangement is well-established. On Campus Kristiansand, however, parking fees were introduced during the spring semester, and these have not changed since they were introduced. After the article in Fædrelandsvennen online this weekend and in the Monday issue of the physical version (behind paywall), the fact that you have to pay for electricity as well as the regular parking fee will be further emphasised by separate signs on the parking machines and the charging stations.
The whole parking arrangement at UiA is based on vehicles parking inside of the designated spaces, clearly marked with white lines. Parking outside of the lines results in a parking fine, which at the moment is NOK 600. UiA follows the national regulations for parking fines.
One of the reasons for this is that parking on ditch edges and grass areas can obstruct emergency vehicles from reaching their destination. As an example, there have been days where large fire engines would not have been able to drive up to Hokus Pokus kindergarten on Campus Kristiansand. Fortunately, no illegally parked cars have yet obstructed the path for emergency vehicles.
