Open doors during Gründeruka

How can your research be commercialised, and how can you combine this with working full-time? These are some of the questions UiA Nyskaping is prepared to answer on the 14th and 15th of November.

This article is more than two years old, and may contain outdated information.

"There are a lot of commercialisation possibilities, such as software development, campaigns and academic spin-offs. We want to make it as easy as possible to get in touch with interested researchers, that is why we open our doors to them," says Kristina Walker-Nordlöf, manager at UiA Nyskaping.

Wants more projects

Currently UiA Nyskaping is working on 18 commercialisation projects with employees at UiA, a number they want to increase. On the 14th of November, they open their doors at the incubator on Campus Grimstad from 08.00-14.00, and the same time on the 15th of November at the incubator at Campus Kristiansand. They want to welcome every employee for a chat about their services.

"You do not need to have an idea or any detailed plan to get in touch. We just want to talk to researchers about what we can do for them and answer any questions they may have. We know there are many at UiA with great potential, who might not realise it themselves. We want everybody that are curious about commercialisation to come in and have a chat," says Nertila Stringa, colleague of Walker-Nordlöf at UiA Nyskaping.

Exciting event in Grimstad

On the 14th of November there is also an event in Grimstad, the Grimstad BTC, at Apotekergaarden. A meeting place for businesses, technology and culture, with investors, students and music fans gathered in one place. Talks, live crowdfunding, concerts and stands are all part of the program, and UiA Nyskaping is one of several co-hosts of the event.

"It is important for us to connect with the region, and we have a solid position within the start-up community in Agder. We want to use our network and knowledge to help researchers at UiA succeed with their ideas, so we hope to see a lot of new faces during our drop-in at the incubators on the 14th and 15th of November," says Walker-Nordlöf.
