Øivind Moen Eskedal employed as director of communication
Øivind Moen Eskedal (32) was today appointed director of communication at the University of Agder. He has been acting director since the Solberg government appointed Paal Pedersen to the post of state secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation in April last year.

Strong communication expertise
Øivind Moen Eskedal comes from Kristiansand, has a master’s degree in social communication from the University of Agder (2013) and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from NLA University College Gimlekollen (2011). He has also taken continuing education in management and digitalisation, among other things.
Eskedal has practical experience in radio, TV, and online journalism from three years’ work at NRK Sørlandet; he has been a media teacher in Vennesla, and a practice supervisor at Gimlekollen; and he has run his own communication company.
Eskedal has been involved in several fields of work within UiA’s Department of Communication since he started in a part-time position in 2014, a position that became full-time as soon as the media teacher saw his students graduate in Vennesla. Eskedal has had various roles within public relations, research dissemination, student recruitment and was responsible for the web and other digital channels when he was appointed acting director of communication last year.
External relations
Erle Wright Severinsen was appointed to the position of senior adviser / external relations in the university’s Management Support Unit. She has been working in the position since Erik Lunde was appointed secretary of state. Erle Wright Severinsen has a master’s degree in political science and management and has been a political adviser for Harald Furre when he was mayor of Kristiansand, among other things.
