CEO Tom Fidjeland in Cameron Sense, Kristiansand, and student Robin A.R. Moudnib are the only board members who continue to sit on the UiA Board in the autumn.

Becomes Chair of the board: New Rector of UiA, Sunniva Whittaker.

This is clear after the Ministry of Education and Research appointed its four representatives to the university board and the internal board elections at UiA are over. The last election was concluded on 27 May for the constituency of temporary employees in education and research positions.

“This looks good for the University of Agder. I know several of the new board members from before and feel confident we will get a board that is concerned with what is best for the university, that is efficient, and whose members are knowledgeable in their fields. I look forward to working with them”, rector elect and chair of the board Sunniva Whittaker says. She will succeed Frank Reichert as UiA rector this summer.

Thanks to the outgoing board

University Director Seunn Smith-Tønnessen is also happy with the board that has been appointed from August. However, she also wishes to use the opportunity to thank the existing board for the work that they have done during their period.

“The board is a great resource for UiA. We are thankful that the external members, as much as the staff and students, prioritise the board and invest their time in further developing the university. We have a good board which both challenges and supports us, and we do not take this for granted,” she says.
