Telenor will replace a number of antennas on the roof of Building A on Campus Kristiansand next week. On Tuesday, the main entrance will be closed because a large mobile crane will lift antennas and other equipment up onto the roof. Parts of the entrance hall will also be closed off.
Some of the antennas to be replaced are mounted on the wall of Building A, as in the picture - others are up on the roof.
Work starts on Monday 3 October and continues until Sunday 9 October, but the main entrance will only be closed on Tuesday 4 October.
The alternatives are either to go left around the building down onto the lawn and enter the revolving door by the bookstore - or to go down the stairs to the right of the main entrance and enter through Østsia. A third option is to walk around the auditorium building on the right and enter from the loading zone.
There will be physical barriers to the main entrance and barrier tapes in the entrance hall, Vrimlehallen - or Vilhelm Krag Hall as it is officially called. The seating area outside the Global Lounge will be closed off (see photo).
The barriers are there to prevent people from moving around beneath the glass ceiling while lifting operations are taking place above.
Security guards will be on site to ensure people stay out of the barricaded areas outside and inside the building during crane operations.
A lift will be placed in front of the building in connection with the work and secured with barriers. There will also be a ladder truck on site for replacing antennas mounted on the walls. These are smaller operations that will be secured while the work is being carried out.
