You can sign up for the race by using the QR code in this picture.

The UiA Race will be held at Campus Kristiansand on 7 September at 18:00. Participants gather on the lawn before the race starts. The trail is four kilometres long, and all proceeds from the race will go to this year's TV-aksjon in support of Doctors Without Borders.

“This is a great initiative by our committed students, and I would encourage all our employees to join”, says University Director Seunn Smith-Tønnessen.

It costs NOK 150 to take part in the race. There will be various prizes, including for best costume and best photo tagged #uialøpet.

Hoping for 200 participants

“We’ve had almost 160 people sign up, and our first goal was to reach 100. So now we’re hoping for 200”, says Oda Isnes Tyse, deputy leader of Trisalus.

The academic society Trisalus is for students in public health, sports, nutrition, and outdoor life. They have put people from all over the university in motion before the race.

“Nursing students will help us with first aid during the race, and nutrition students will cook. The canteen provides fruit for the participants, and ICT students help us make videos”, Tyse says.

Want to include everyone

The aim of the race is to collect as much money as possible for TV-aksjonen and Doctors Without Borders, and to get as many people as possible moving.

“We hope for good weather, but in any case I hope to see both students, teachers and other familiar faces from UiA out on the trail. We want to include everyone, regardless of how they want to complete the race”, Tyse says.

There will be an after-party at Harvey's in the centre of town, where participants get free entry.
