This year's bicycle days on campus are 29 and 30 March in Kristiansand and Grimstad.
“There are many reasons why cycling is the ultimate mode of transport: Physical activity, fresh air and no greenhouse gas emissions”, says Katharina Reionn Bjørnestøl, environmental adviser at UiA.
The first bicycle days at UiA this spring take place in Kristiansand on Tuesday 29 March and in Grimstad on 30 March, both days from 08:00 to 12:00. Free coffee will be handed out to everyone outside the main entrances.
Do you need to inflate the tires, lubricate the bike chain or tighten the brakes? You can get basic service on your bike on both campuses during bicycle days.
The bicycle workshop Pedalen, which is run by the Church City Mission, comes to Campus Kristiansand. They also sell bicycles at a good price.
Respons Norway comes to Campus Grimstad, a charitable organisation that runs a bicycle workshop for immigrants, among other things. On bicycle day, they also offer bike rental and sale to students at a good price.
Representatives from both municipalities will on campus to promote and provide information about cycling opportunities in Kristiansand and Grimstad.
Bicycle days are organised by UiA in collaboration with the host municipalities Grimstad and Kristiansand. The events are designed to encourage all staff and students to choose cycling as a means of transport to campus.
