Coronavirus confirmed at the Faculty of Fine Arts

Saturday 6 March: A student at the Faculty of Fine Arts is in isolation due to COVID-19. The situation is under control.

The student was at Campus Kristiansand Thursday 4 March, but did not attend any physical lecture or had any close contact with other students.

Fellow students are not in quarantine.

Municipal health services have not put any other student or employee in quarantine, but asks everyone to be extra attentive to symptoms and to test themselves if symptoms should occur. You can find the Corona test centre phone on this webpage – scroll down in the right column.

UiA has closed the textile workshop for cleaning until Monday morning.

The faculty's administration staff and lecturers have been informed, and are considering whether the situation will have implications for lectures. Fellow students will receive an individual message from the faculty if any changes should occur.

Keep distance and be aware of symptoms

The virus can spread really fast as we have seen in outbreaks around the country. The very fast spreading  english hooligan-virus have now reached Agder, so please be extra careful.

Universities and colleges are among the first places health services close down.

To avoid having our campuses closed, we all have to continue following the infection control guidelines:

  1. Stay at home if you are ill or develop respiratory symptoms.
  2. Wash your hands and sanitise them often.
  3. Social distancing is important – maintain at least a one-metre distance. Keep this in mind in the canteen and common areas.
  4. Limit the number of close contacts you have as best you can. Keep track of the people you have been in contact with for more than 15 minutes within two metres of each other.
  5. Use the QR codes wherever possible and
  6. Download the Smittestopp app for digital tracing from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI).
