This autumn, PhD students at the University of Agder are setting the foundation of their own association to help and support PhD students with their student life at UiA.
23 students have been hired as academic coaches at the Faculty of Engineering and Science’s study programmes. The coaches are responsible for managing their own student groups, which they will follow throughout the entire year of study. The aim is helping first-year students to experience a sense of mastery and succeed with their studies at the university.
The Global Lounge in Vrimlehallen is a meeting place for formal and informal meetings between international and Norwegian students and staff. It is located next to the main entrance and was officially opened in January 2018.
The Election Committee at the University of Agder is now announcing the election of a new rector for the period 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2023. The election will be held in February.

Both UiA and SiA are now extending their opening hours for all those who want to be even better prepared for examinations. During afternoons, dinner prices in the student canteen will be reduced by a one-third, and the canteen will stay open until 17:00 on weekdays. In addition, the library and other buildings will stay open longer during weekends.
