Owl encounters with Roar Solheim

Owl encounters can take many forms, especially if you are working to study owls up close. This is something Norwegian zoologist Roar Solheim has done for half a century. Imagine eagle owls nesting in churches, short-eared owls on rooftops, and getting hit by Ural Owls on purpose.

During a visit to the International Owl Center in Houston, Minnesota, Roar Solheim gave a popular lecture on "Owl encounters", where he shared some of his exciting encounters and experience with owls from countries around the world.
