All international students can apply for student housing. You will receive information once you have been accepted as a student.
International students from outside EU/EEA who are spending a minimum of one semester at the University of Agder are guaranteed student housing in shared or single rooms. After having accepted the offer of admission to UiA, you will receive a reservation code and details on how to apply for your accommodation. Please do not apply for housing before receiving this information.
Please check SiA's webpage to see the different types of student housing that are available in Kristiansand and Grimstad.
Please note that:
The rooms are modest with basic furniture only. No kitchen and cooking utensils, duvets, pillows or towels are available in the student dorms. You have to bring your own or purchase the items upon arrival. (A shopping trip is arranged during orientation!)
Please note that SiA cannot guarantee that there is availability in your first choice of accommodation and that SiA reserves the right to assign a different type of apartment than the one for which you have applied.
Contracts have to be signed upon offer of accommodation and usually cover one or two full semesters. Should you wish to terminate your contract, one month’s notice calculated from the first day of the ensuing month, is required.
SiA must be notified of any change in the date of arrival or departure as soon as possible.
All SiA student dorms are rented out without any bedding or kitchen equipment.
International students have the opportunity to order a package with pillow, duvet and bed linen, which will be ready in the room upon arrival. SiA will contact you via e-mail with information on how to order this package after you have accepted your housing contract. You will be billed for this on your first rent payment.
