When you are connected to UIA, you can access many e-books. We do not borrow printed copies when we provide electronic access, except for medical reasons.
Sometimes it might be difficult to verify whether or not UIA has electronic access. In the search results in Oria, you click on “Full text”. The resource will either open automatically, or you will see a link to one or more distributors. Click on the one that seems most relevant according to the publication date for the text you want to read.
Sometimes, when you click “Full text”, you will see the message “No full text available”. We cannot borrow e-books from other libraries, but you can order nonetheless, and we will then consider whether or not to acquire a printed version.
In some cases, even if UIA is supposed to have access, you will not be able to open the text. Please make sure of the following:
If you still don’t have access, create a personal profile on the distributor’s site, for instance Ebook Central.
Open Downloads on your computer. Right-click on the file and choose to open it in Adobe Reader.
Try to delete cookies in your browser.
If you still have trouble, the distributor might have to register your computer’s IP address. Find your IP address, for instance at What’s my IP. Send us an email with this address as well as the reference – title, author and year – of the resource that you are looking for. We will troubleshoot and get back to you.
