Students and patrons without affiliation to UiA may borrow books for 60 days. Loans can only be renewed once. Employees may borrow for 150 days and renew twice.
Loans from other libraries – interlibrary loans – are subject to the owner library's policy.
If there is a queue at the time you borrow the book, you can only keep it for one week. If the queue occurs while you are borrowing the book, you'll get ten days to return it. You will receive an email if any change in due date.
DVDs, CDs and journals can only be borrowed for one week. These loans cannot be renewed.
Items from reference collection are either not for loan or only for one day.
Loan card and patron ID
Students and employees at UiA use their institution card to borrow.
Persons affiliated to other colleges or universities can use their institution card. Turn to UiA's service desk in order to be registered. Please bring personal identification with image. After that, you can sign in to UiA's Oria domain (uia.oria.no) by choosing your home institution as affiliation and your institutional credentials (Feide-ID).
Persons without institutional affiliation use a Norwegian national library card. If you don't have one, you can register at Agder University Library by presenting personal identification with image. Sign in Oria.no by choosing Bibsys as affiliation.
Items on self served pick up shelf are organized according to patron IDs. Your patron ID is normally printed on your library card. The most common patron IDs consist of ten characters, i.e. uba0123456 or n001234567.
A patron is personally responsible for the documents that she borrows and that they are returned in due time and good shape.
We send reminders on due date as well as after due date. You can also see the status of your loans and orders by logging in My Account in Oria. Once a month you will receive an email with an overview of your status. When a loan is several weeks overdue, you will be blocked from more renewals and loans.
Patrons must compensate documents that are damaged or lost with the amount of 600 NOK per document that belongs to Agder University Library (UBA). Other rates may differ according to material belonging to other libraries or particularly valuable documents. UBA assume that these terms of use are known to the patron. If one fails to comply, one might lose the right to use UBA.
Use "My Account" on Oria to renew and display your current loans, orders or reservations.
Persons belonging to a college or university use Feide login to access My account in Oria. This credential is the same that you use for other institutional resources.
If you don't have Feide credentials, you must use the patron ID on your Norwegian national library card. You can request a password from Bibsys yourself. You should receive a password immediately and be able to log in to Oria. When doing so, choose BIBSYS as institutional affiliation.
Order only if the item is not available in the library.
If you need a copy of an article or a book chapter, please register a reference as complete as possible: author(s), article title, volume, issue, pages.
The library will notify you by e-mail or SMS when you may collect the item. After some days, if you haven't picked up the item, your reservation will be deleted and the item removed. The time limit is given in the pick up message.
