Ziaul Haque Munim

Associate Professor

Ziaul is Associate Professor at the University of Agder, Norway (UiA). His main research interests include maritime logistics, transport economics, supply chain management and international business. Dynamics of container shipping freight rates is one of his special interests. He received the Best Paper Award at the IAME 2016 Conference in Hamburg, and the Best Young Researcher Award at the IAME 2018 Conference in Mombasa.

In addition to research, he is also teaching two courses at UiA: 'Statistics, Data Analysis and Research Methods' and 'Industrial Buying Behaviour'. Ziaul has extensive training in 'Structural Equation Modelling' from the University of Oslo and University of Cambridge. He is also an expert of 'bibliometric analysis' and 'univariate time series modelling'.

Ziaul has been a visiting scholar for two months (May- July 2018) at the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics of Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He pursued PhD in International Management from the University of Agder and M.Sc in Supply Chain Management at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria (WU) where his specializations were Transport and Logistics, and Transport Geography Modeling. Apart from that, he holds a Bachelor in Business Administration with specialization in Finance from Eastern University, Bangladesh (EU). He also worked for 1.5 years as Credit Risk Analyst at United Finance Company Ltd. He has attended two modules of the Global Challenges in Transport programmes at the University of Oxford.
