Daniel F. Schulz is Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UiA's Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. He holds an M.A. in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin (2010-13) and a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute (2013-17).
Prior to joining the University of Agder, Daniel has been a Research Associate at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies in Florence and a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria. He has also held visiting positions at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver (2012/13) and TUM School of Governance in Munich (2018/19).
His research focuses on monetary policy, financial regulation, and the politics of taxation. In particular, he is interested in how ideas, interests, and institutions shape European cooperation in these policy areas in the context of Economic and Monetary Union. Some of his recent research has been published with the Journal of European Integration, Politics and Governance, and JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies.
