Amanda Machin is a political sociologist with a specialisation in environmental politics and radical democracy. After completing her PhD at the University of Westminster, London with Chantal Mouffe she moved to Germany to take up various positions at the Institute of Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam, Zeppelin University, Friedrichshafen and the University of Witten/Herdecke. She is interested in the dynamics, identifications and discourses of socio-ecological transformation and the role of human bodies in politics. She has published numerous articles on these topics with international journals such as Environmental Politics, Environmental Values and Democratic Theory. Together with Marcel Wissenburg, she is currently editing a collection on Green Political Theory with Edward Elgar and she is a member of editorial review board, the Global Epistemics book series at Rowman & Littlefield International.
