Shashank is a PhD research fellow at the University of Agder's faculty of engineering sciences, where he works on developing wearable haptic devices and AI applications to help children with autism to improve sensory integration and situational awareness.
Shashank's research is multifaceted, incorporating robots, haptics, AI, health informatics, and mobile health systems. He develops prediction systems for problem behaviour in autism using biomarkers such as heart rate, heart rate variability, and electrodermal activity. He applies vibrotactile and thermal feedbacks to improve sensory integration and situational awareness.
The research is funded by TRCM and in collaboration with the Centre for eHealth, i4Helse and Sørlandet Sykehus (SSHF).
