Liang Zhao is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the School of Business and Law at the University of Agder. He holds a Ph.D. from Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam.
During his Ph.D., he functioned as a joint-lecturer for three master courses (“Entrepreneurship in Science and technology”; “International Entrepreneurship”; “Innovation Management”) and one bachelor course (“Entrepreneurship and Innovation”). He is also the thesis supervisor of 22 master students at Amsterdam Business School.
Liang is a distinguished research fellow of China’s Public Sector Economy Research Center (CPSERC) and China-Israel Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center (CIEIC) in China. In addition, he is an affiliate researcher at the Cambridge University Center for Alternative Finance. He is also a guest speaker for European Crowdfunding Network (ECN) and member of the European Center for Alternative Finance (ECAF).
Liang studies innovation and entrepreneurship, with a special emphasis on reward-based crowdfunding. His research interests include the interactive mechanism of crowdfunding platforms, backers, and entrepreneurs; backer behavior; crowdfunding community formation and success factors of crowdfunding campaigns. His research output includes journal articles, book chapters, and industry reports. Besides, He also writes popular articles for global FinTech web media such as Crowdfund Insider and INVYO Insights.
