Kwame Ohene Djan holds a Bsc Business Adminsitration with a specialization in Accounting from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi Ghana. He also holds a Master of Science degree in International Management and Strategy from the University of Agder in Kristiansand Norway. Kwame is currently a PhD Candidate in International Management with the department of Strategy and Management at the School of Business and Law University of Agder, Norway. His research interest is in the governance and management of non profit institutions especially microfinance enterprises.
Kwame has published one of his PhD Research papers titled Does religious affiliation influence the design of corporate governance? Evidence from the global microfinance industry in the Strategic change journal (Level 2 ABS). Together with three other colleagues Kwame has a second publication titled Credit Risk Research: A review and agenda in the Emerging Market Finance and Trade Journal.
Between June 12-14, 2017, Kwame participated in the 5th European Microfinance Research Conference held at the University of Portsmouth in the UK. There he presented his research working paper titled "The impact of international ownership on microfinance performance". Also between 4-6th September, 2017, Kwame presented another paper at the 7th Oikos Young Scholars Finance Academy hosted by the the Department of Banking and Finance at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
