Ingvild Koksvik is a singer, songwriter and recording artist. Her career includes several albums with original music, commissioned works for festivals, and substantial touring as a live artist in Norway and Europe. She holds a master’s degree in musicology from the University of Oslo, where she also spent two years as a research assistant.

Koksvik’s doctoral dissertation deals with perceived space as aesthetic and compositional elements in popular music recordings. Her project aims to investigate what notions of space signifies for recording artist-songwriters, when composing, recording, and producing original material, and in which ways theoretical concepts like compositional design and audio staging might inform these creative processes. The project is based on practice-based research and popular musicology.
