Elisabet R. Hillesund holds a position as Associate Professor of Nutrition in Department of Nutrition and Public Health since 2015. She completed her master’s degree in clinical nutrition at University of Oslo in 2002 and her PhD in Public Health Nutrition at University of Agder in 2015.
Hillesund is presently heading a study program in nutrition and is teaching and supervising students at bachelor -, master’s -, and PhD level.
Hillesund's scientific work concerns diet and nutrition in nutritionally vulnerable life stages, i.e. adolescence, preconception years, pregnancy, infancy and early childhood. She is involved in several research projects addressing dietary challenges in these life stages through the UiA-established Priority Research Centre on Lifecourse Nutrition.
Hillesund represents University of Agder in a National forum for higher education and research within the field of nutrition.
