John Arngrim Hunnes

Dr. John A. Hunnes is a Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics and Finance within the School of Business and Law at the University of Agder. He earned his PhD and Master of Science in Economics from the NHH Norwegian School of Economics.

Dr. Hunnes' research primarily focuses on Economic History, Business Ethics and Sustainability. His work has been published in reputable journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Financial History Review, The Journal of European Economic History, and International Journal of Manpower.

He has also co-authored and contributed to book chapters published by Palgrave Macmillan and The University of Chicago Press. In 2016, Dr. Hunnes co-authored the book Financial Crises in a Historical Perspective, available in Norwegian. Additionally, he has written several popular articles and op-eds in Norwegian.

Before joining the University of Agder, Dr. Hunnes held a Postdoctoral position at the NHH Norwegian School of Economics. He currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Hauge School of Management and is a member of the Academic Committee for Business Ethics within the National Council of Higher Education in Business Administration. Since July 2022, he has also been associated with the Centre for Teaching and Learning (UiA PULS).

In recognition of his teaching efforts, Dr. Hunnes received the university's award for teaching excellence in 2018, and in 2021, he was promoted to Excellent Teaching Practitioner.
