I have an M.Sc. in biology from the University of Oslo and a postgraduate unit in Philosophy from the same university. Later I achieved a postgraduate teacher training certificate at the University of Agder. I was a teacher in High School from 2002-2014 and taught Biology, Science and Mathematics. I have been working at the Department of Natural Sciences since 2014. I teach Biology and Science didactics in the teacher education programme, and work on a PhD in science education.

I have a broad interest in Biology and Science education, and my primary research interest is the history and philosophy of Biology in Science education, mainly related to teaching and learning about Biodiversity in the Teacher Education program.
Besides teaching I am writing my dissertation with the preliminary title: Exploring living nature – Modes of observation in history, teaching and learning. A phenomenological approach.
