André Eiermann is working at UiA since January 2018 and has first taught there in November 2017 as guest instructor / director of the project THE FLEXIBLE MATTERS.
Eiermann has studied at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, Germany (diploma in 2004; ph.d. in 2008) and at the Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies (theatre studies) at Universitetet i Bergen (Erasmus-exchange in 2001). His ph.d.-thesis Postspektakuläres Theater – Die Alterität der Aufführung und die Entgrenzung der Künste (2009) received the award for the best ph.d.-thesis at Justus-Liebig-Universität in the academic year 2008/2009 in the section philology, literary and cultural studies, history, and philosophy.
Eiermann has formerly worked a.o. as substitute professor of the theory and history of theatre at Universität der Künste Berlin (2015-2016), as substitute professor for theatre studies at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (2010-2011), and as postdoc at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen (2009-2010 & 2011-2012). In addition, he is active as performing artist since 2001, and collaborates as freelance dramaturge with various other artists since 2013, both in the norwegian and in the international context.
