Ronald Mayora Synnes at the Faculty of Humanities and Education has submitted his thesis entitled «Ungdom i migrantmenigheter. En studie av forhandlinger om religion, etnisitet og kjønn» (Young people in immigrant congregations), and will defend the thesis for the PhD-degree Tuesday 25 June 2019.
He has followed the PhD programme in Humanities and Education with Specialisation in Religion, Ethics, History and Society.
The Candidate: Ronald Mayora Synnes (Caracas, Venezuela 1981) Master in Religion, Society and Global Issues from MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society, 2010, with the dissertation " Religiøsitet blant unge muslimer og kristne i Oslo: En komparativ analyse av åtte unge muslimer og kristnes fortellinger i et kjønnsperspektiv» (Religiousness among young Muslims and Christians in Oslo; A comparative analysis of eight young Muslims and Christian narratives in a gender perspective). Currently employed as an Assistant Professor at NLA University College in Kristiansand.
The trial lecture and the public defence will take place at Arne Garborgs auditorium – B1-006, Campus Kristiansand, Tuesday 25 June 2019.
Dean Sunniva Whittaker, Faculty of Humanities and Education, will chair the disputation.
