- CIEM is very pleased with recruiting Sofie Pilemalm as Adjunct Professor, says CIEM Director Bjørn Erik Munkvold.
- Professor Pilemalm has extensive experience from emergency management, and will strengthen further CIEM’s research activities on development and deployment of technological innovations in close collaboration with emergency stakeholders. Through her role as leader of the CARER research centre at Linköping university and her network in Sweden, she contributes a solid basis for developing further Nordic collaboration in emergency management.
In 2011 she returned to LiU as Director of the Centre for Advanced Research of Emergency Response (CARER) which is an inter-disciplinary research centre for handling emergencies with new resources, technology and methods, spanning over 3 faculties and 6 institutions. She is also responsible for its research programme “Effective response at the incident site of Tomorrow”, all funded by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).
Her research interests span over organizational development and learning, IS development, decision-support systems, user participation in design, IS methods, co-production, digital transformation, all in the area of emergency response. Recently her research has had much focus on volunteer resources/community resilience.
Sofie Pilemalm has been collaborating with CIEM for several years, e.g. through the INSITU project, and since June 2021 she holds a 20% Professorship in Information Systems at the University of Agder.
