Four people were asked to meet with the rectorate and give feedback to UiA with regards to future strategy work. These four are Rebekka Borsch, recently resigned State Secretary for the Ministry of Research and Higher Education, Idar Kreutzer, Managing Director of Finance Norway, Anne Kjersti Fahlvik, Executive Director in the Research Council of Norway and Camilla Stoltenberg, Director General for the Norwegian Institute for Public Health.
« These four people each have an interesting background, and they contributed with some very constructive perspectives in the strategy process », says Whittaker.
The discussion paper of UiA’s strategy was published for feedback from all UiA students and staff. STA, the Departments, Institutes, and several individuals sent in their input before the deadline of 1 February.
« We would like to thank all students and employees for the interest they have taken in how UiA should resolve its societal responsibility, and what the university should look like in 2030 », say Rector Sunniva Whittaker and University Rector Seunn Smith-Tønnessen.
On Monday 23 February, there will be a workshop at UiA. The target group for attending this workshop consists mainly of deans, department managers and managers of research centres.
« The objective of the workshop is to discuss the contents of the future interdisciplinary focus at UiA », says Vice-Rector for Research and Interdisciplinary Projects Hans Kjetil Lysgård.
All contributions will be considered, and the strategy proposal will be sent out for comments, both internally and externally, on 1 March 2020.
On 16 April, there will be a dialogue with an extended Council for Collaboration with the Private Sector (RSA). Present will be representatives from the regional community and private business.
The strategy for 2021 – 2024 will become final at the meeting of the University Board in June 2020.
