The funding is applicable for all research projects led by permanent employees at UiA or post.docs/PhD candidates from a doctoral program at UiA, where students from UiA participate. Only project leaders can apply (employees/post.docs/PhD candidates). Student projects or Master’s projects will not qualify for funding. The funding will only go to active students registered at UiA. It is important that some of the projects involve students from teacher educational program, since the Teacher Education Unit is not granted funding in the proposed allocation formula.
How much can one apply for?
One can apply for up to NOK 15.000 per project. NOK 15.000 is the maximum sum, not depending on how many students participate in the project. The funding will cover costs directly connected to the student’s activity in the project, e.g. travels, conferences, payment, etc.
What must the application contain?
The application should be short and contain the following:
Name of the project and the project leader
Number of students planned in the project
What the student/students will cover in the project and what costs must be covered
Each student must, at the end of the project, hand in a short blog post at uia.no. The blog post should describe what each student has been involved in and what learning value the participation in the project has been. The funding will not be tranferred before the blog post is published.
What must the faculty do?
The faculty will ensure hour contracts for the students, in conformity with its routines. We advise the faculties to use salary location in LR02, salary step 19-22, alt. 1, depending on the student’s seniority, cf. Main Tariff Agreement at state level.
The faculty will send an internal invoice for all the projects together within December 31, 2017. Missing invoicing by the deadline will result in funding not being allocated. Allocated funding that has not been used will be withdrawn. The internal invoice must include the names of project leaders and the students that have participated in the projects.
