The art is experienced daily by the students, the staff and the visitors of UiA. But do you really see the art? Our aim is to make the art at UiA accessible to all and to create room for curiosity, pleasure and reflection.
New art is constantly being acquired and the collection reflects the development of contemporary trends through the years, in other words art is always reflecting its time. The works of art relate beautifully to both its architectural surroundings and to the study and research activities that take place here.
Unique collection
Through the years we have acquired works of art as gifts and through buying, often supported by various funds. Public Art Norway (KORO), formerly known as Utsmykningsfondet for offentlige bygg, has played an important role in financing and initiating art projects of high artistic quality.
Gifts from other institutions, companies and private individuals make up a substantial part of the collection.
