Support on Quantitative Research and Statistics (SQUARES)
This service provides support and advice on quantitative research and statistics to the academic staff and students at Ph.D. and master level at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
We can provide advice and support with:
- Identifying relevant data sources
- Data preparation
- Descriptive analysis
- Modelling issues
- Inferential statistics
- Advice on how to write up results
- Information about relevant workshops/courses
The service is available to students and academic staff from the Faculty. Supervisors may accompany students to consulting sessions.

You can require an appointment by writing to: Marco Seeber marco.seeber@uia.no or Morten Blekesaune morten.blekesaune@uia.no ; in the email, please specify your questions for which you ask support, and if possible, relevant information on the methodology. If you have reached the data analysis stage, you may also bring data and preliminary analyses.

Guidelines
An acknowledgement of the contribution of the SQUARES should be made in a thesis or publication. This service is normally limited to advice and support on quantitative research and statistics. It does not include more substantial contributions such writing up research. If such contribuitons should become relevant, co-authorship may be considered.
