God start is a mentor program at the Faculty of Humanities and Education. The purpose of the program is to create a safe and enriching learning environment for students at the faculty.
The program is designed to welcome new students and to ensure a smooth introduction to the university and your studies. The transition and integration into higher education may seem daunting to many, and it is the faculty’s wish that students receive the care and support needed to succeed on both an academic and social level.
During the Autumn of 2022, God start is offered to students at the following study programs: English; History; Pedagogy; Special Education; Religion, Ethics and Society; Nordic Language and Literature; Communication – Media Production; Applied Philosophy; French; Spanish; German.
The faculty invites all first-year students, in the aforementioned programs, to participate in a “God Start” group. The groups will consist of ten to fifteen students in the same study program, led by a student mentor. The mentors are experienced students that will function as group leaders and will guide and support the students throughout the first semester.
In the God start groups, we wish to provide a safe and comfortable environment for both socializing and learning, where participants can get to know their fellow students and assist each other with both academic and practical challenges.
