Courses for exchange students
Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences
The Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences is situated in two locations: Campus Kristiansand, and Campus Grimstad.
The faculty offers both theoretical courses, clinical placements and internships to students from partner institutions. Some of the courses are offered at both campuses and online. You will find the list of courses offered in English the academic year here
Courses taught in Norwegian may also be offered to incoming students who are fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages, depending on availability.
We also offer a number of course packages where timetables and exams are collision-free.
Course packages autumn 2023
Nursing (20 ECTS) - bachelor level
- SY-321-1 Global Health in combination with one of the courses in clinical practice. The students can choose between SYP321 Medicine, SYP322 Surgery or SYP323 Community health services.
- SY-322-G Innovation in nursing in combination with one of the courses in clinical practice. The students can choose between SYP321 Medicine, SYP322 Surgery or SYP323 Community health services.
The courses are offered at both campuses and students will be accepted to either of the campuses depending on available spaces. The exchange periode is 13 weeks (week 33-45). For students who are fluent in one of the Scandinavian languages, it is also possible to stay for a full semester of 30 ECTS and combine of of the course packages with SY-310 Complexity and leadership. This course is taught in Norwegian.
Course packages spring 2024
Sport Sciences and Physical Education - bachelor level
Every spring the Department of Sport offers its popular Outdoor Education and Nature Guiding programme (full semester 30 ECTS). The course comprises of two courses and it is necessary to sign up and study both.
- FRI109-1 Basic Outdoor Activities Theory (10 ECTS)
- FRI111-1 Outdoor Education 2-Field trips (20 ECTS).
Please note that in order to take the Outdoor Education and Nature Guiding course, you must be physically fit and be able to swim.
Sport Sciences and Physical Education - master level

- IDR424-1 Developing Sports Expertise (15 ECTS)
- ME-428-1 Quantitative Research Methods (10 ECTS) OR ME-429-G Qualitative Research Methods (10 ECTS)
- Package III
- IDR426-1 Internship in Sport Science (15 ECTS)
- ME-428-1 Quantitative Research Methods (10 ECTS) OR ME-429-G Qualitative Research Methods (10 ECTS)

- The Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences reserves the right to make changes in course offerings.
- Make sure that you meet the course requirements.
- If you select courses from one faculty and within one level (bachelor or master level) you will have less scheduling conflicts.
- Course codes with the first digit 1, 2 and 3 are bachelor level courses, and course codes starting with 4 and 5 are master level courses.
- Only students on master level (fourth or fifth year) are accepted to master level courses at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.
- Master students may take bachelor courses.
