UiA welcomes prominent Polish colleagues this November

The Department of Classical Music and Music Education at the University of Agder (UiA) hosts a major visit from the Polish Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music this November.

Vice-rector of education professor Szymon Musioł, professor Marcin Murawskidr and Aleksandra Rykowska are amongst the visitors from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan.

Prominent professors and musicians from Poznan, including Vice-Rectors of Research and Education will meet with staff and students at UiA's Department of Classical Music and Music Education. A number of activities are planned in connection with their stay at UiA November 11 to 21, 2021:

– Our Polish colleagues will offer masterclasses, one-to-one teaching and lectures. On Saturday November 20 at 16:00, they will perform a concert in Sigurd Køhn's Hall 1, says Professor and Head of Music Performance Programmes Jørn Schau.

The guests from Poland represent different fields and subjects such as winds, strings, piano, singing, musicology and research.

The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan has been the department's main international partner for several years. The cooperation has strong ties and has for over a decade included research and artistic activities, collaboration in international projects, and student- and staff mobilities.

The upcoming visit is one of several sessions at UiA and in Poznan this fall, carried out under the auspices of the EEA Education Programme: The Edu-Action project and components for study-visits (Component I) and mobilities (Component II).

The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music is the project's promoter and UiA's Department of Classical Music and Music Education, Faculty of Fine Arts is its first partner. Professor Ewa Murawska (Poznan) and Professor Jørn Schau (UiA) are responsible for the project management.
