The visitors from Poland will offer masterclasses, one-to-one teaching, lectures and two concerts during their stay at UiA this March.

Professors and musicians from The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan will meet with staff and students at UiA's Department of Classical Music and Music Education during their stay at UiA between March 21 and March 23:

– Our Polish colleagues will offer masterclasses, one-to-one teaching sessions and lectures, says Professor and Head of Music Performance Programmes Jørn Schau.

Two concerts are planned as well, the first one on Thursday March 23 at 15:15 in Hall 1 in UiAs K-building / Sigurd Køhns hus. The second concert will take place at the same venue on Friday 24 March at 13:15.

Winds and piano

The guests from Poland represent different fields and subjects such as winds and piano. The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan has been the department's main international partner for several years.

– The cooperation has strong ties and has for over a decade included research and artistic activities, collaboration in international projects, and student- and staff mobilities, Schau says.

The upcoming visit is one of several sessions at UiA and in Poznan this year, carried out under the auspices of the EEA Education Programme: international mobilities (Component II). The Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music is the project's promoter and UiA's Department of Classical Music and Music Education, Faculty of Fine Arts is its first partner. Professor Ewa Murawska (Poznan) and Professor Jørn Schau (UiA) are responsible for the project management.
