Join the UiA choir!

The UiA choir consists of about 60 music students as well other students and employees at UiA who want to sing in a choir!

This year, the choir will mostly be preparing for a large concert in Kristiansand cathedral on 25 April 2019. On this year’s repertoire is a mass by jazz pianist Steve Dobrogosz (who among other things was Radka Toneff’s pianist). He played on the legendary albums Fairytales and Mass. Musically, the mass is at the point of intersection between jazz and classic. The choir will be accompanied by piano and string orchestra.

In addition, the choir will perform songs made by guitarist and Associate Professor Rolf Kristensen and Associate Professor Kari Iveland, both from the Department of Popular Music. The songs are arranged for soloists, choir and band.

The choir conductor is Anne Haugland Balsnes, professor of music at UiA. If you wish to join, please send a mail to annehb@uia.no before 22 August and state what voice type you sing (If you do not know, come to practice 15:30 on 28 August, and we can find out!)
