The audition lasts for 25 minutes. Applicants who pass the music performance presentation proceeds to an interview. The interview lasts for about 10 minutes.

Audition:
You have to send in an audio-visual recording (video) of an appr. 25-minute performance (played by yourself) – with repertoire of your own choice. Deadline to submit your recording will be on February 1st– at 1700 CET. Important information:
You can send in your recording at any time you wish before the deadline. If the file size is too large for e-mail distribution, please use www.wetransfer.no . Mark your e-mail/transmission with your full name and application number. If you fail to submit your audition-recording within the deadline, you will not be able to complete the entrance examination.
Skype/Zoom Interview:
You will be invited to a skype/zoom interview. We will contact you to settle a day/time for your interview after the February 1st deadline for submission of your audio-visual recording.
Important information:
During the interview we will ask questions about your formal musical and educational background, and want to hear about your goals, future plans and ambitions. We would also like you to tell us about your previous concert experience as a soloist and ensemble musician, your experience and results from previous competitions and auditions, and would like to hear about your general background.
We will be happy to answer any questions you might have concerning the programme and our facilities here at the University of Agder during the interview. We will also like to discuss your wishes for a master course in-depht field. Here we have several options according to your main instrument and wishes: “Creative Performance”, “Collaborative Piano”, “Ensemble Singing”, “Orchestral Academy” ,“Classical Music Improvisation” and “Choir Conducting”. If you fail to complete the interview, you cannot be considered for a study place at the University of Agder.
Applicants who wish “Orchestral Academy” or “Ensemble Singing” as In-depht field, may be asked to submit a supplementary recording of material with special relevance. Details on this and deadline for submission will be discussed during the skype/zoom-interview.
Formal requirements
To be accepted as a student you have to pass your audition and the interview, and you need to fulfil the official formal University requirements for student-enrolment to Master’s. These
All candidates will receive a written statement that confirms the results of the entrance examination. Approved candidates must provide all necessary formal documentation during spring and in due time to be able to enrol at the University of Agder in middle August. An exact deadline to submit formal documents will be announced after you receive the results of your audition.
