1. Respect for Others - Professionalism in Cooperation
We all want a work environment with mutual support, openness, inclusion, respect, and trust.
All of us at “Tekreal”, including students, technical staff, administrative staff, PhD students and academic staff, want to contribute to the best possible education and research at UiA. We shall support UiA in being a visible and active contributor to our region. The faculty leadership shall implement clear structures, roles and responsibilities. We create a sustainable employee structure. All information shall be easily accessible. The faculty shall actively establish a new communication strategy. We create a culture for dialogue. We use critics as a means to start discussions and to improve. We create arenas to exchange best practice and to learn from others. We respect the competence, opinions, and believe of each other.
2. Excellence in Education – Taking a leading role in Norway
We strive to offer the best education in Norway with excellent studies that address relevant future job markets and reflect regional competence needs.
We will not compromise on quality, and our students shall have above average competence and capabilities when they enter the job market. Our education integrates research into teaching. We want to be leading in the application of future learning methods, and to provide an excellent study environment.
The faculty shall actively invite students into research projects already at the BSc level. The faculty shall motivate students to see the advantages of a research career with a PhD at the highest level, and it's relevance for competition in the future work market.
3. Excellence in Research
The faculty shall establish itself as a leading contributor of excellent research to society, the public sector and the competitiveness of industry.
The faculty shall promote priority research areas with high relevance for the future of the region and Norway, and contribute with resources to accelerate their development. Established priority areas are: Mathematics Education Research, eHealth and Healthcare Technology, Mechatronics and Renewable Energy. Candidates are: Marine Research, and ICT-facilitated disaster management (CIEM). The faculty shall raise the number of externally financed projects significantly.
