Each spring, the students elect their representatives to the university's faculty boards and the board of the Teacher Education Unit for the following academic year. The same applies to the Student Parliament.
The two elections are held at the same time in the period spanning 22 - 31 March:
• To the faculty boards and the board of the Teacher Education Unit - the highest bodies of the faculties, teacher education and business school at UiA. The faculty boards and the Teacher Education Unit Board have overall responsibility for ensuring that activities at the faculties and teacher training courses maintain high quality.
• To the Student Parliament - the supreme body of the Student Organization in Agder (STA) The Student Parliament deals with matters that deal with the students' welfare and their economic, social, democratic, and professional aspects. The Student Parliament also elects representatives to all councils, boards, and committees at UiA and STA.
• All UiA students who have registered for the semester can propose candidates, stand for election and vote. Standing for election is voluntary, and if a student suggests candidates other than themselves, that person must his or her consent.
