I began employment as a professor at the institute of sports science and physical education in the fall of 2023. I previously worked as a teacher in Swedish and sports and health in Sweden for 16 years before I began teaching at Högskolan Dalarna in teacher education. I have a PhD in Educational Science with a focus on practical knowledge traditions. The thesis dealt with the concept of knowledge with particular focus on practical knowledge in the physical education subject at school as well as in teacher training. I still live in Falun, Sweden and commute to Kristiansand and UiA.

Research interests

My research interest is directed towards knowledge, knowing, learning and teaching. In several projects, the driving force has been to challenge, and explore alternatives to, narrow and exclusionary notions of what it means to 'be good at sports and health' and what movement capability can mean if the actor's experience is taken into account. Many research projects are carried out in schools and higher education, several of which are in collaboration with working teachers and teacher educators.

Courses and teaching

I teach scientific theory, scientific writing, didactics, assessment and grading, practice near research, norms in movement cultures as well as movement courses with a focus on dance and swimming, where we simultaneously test theories about learning and teaching. I have participated in the development of the doctoral education at Dalarna University and have also taught several courses. I currently supervise three doctoral students.
