The Young Musicians Program provides especially talented youngsters between 13 and 19 years old with a supplement to the education they receive at their local music school, high school, or at private tutors. The program is designed to challenge these talented students and to offer them opportunities that are not normally within the reach of their regular music education programmes.
The offer includes:
Individual instrument teaching
Group lessons in music theory and aural training
Lessons about every 3 weeks throughout the school year
Teaching resources from Norway’s best practitioners and educators
Collaboration with local teachers on teaching and repertoire
The tuition itself is free of charge, while the students pay for any travel and accommodation expenses themselves.
Students facing unusually high travel expenses, have the possibility to apply for travel cost compensation.
The music institute welcomes applicants in both classical and popular music.
